The Brief
Our Barnet clients approached us with a clear inspiration - a Pinterest image they had saved that captured the exact mood they wanted for their living room and adjoining spaces. They were drawn to the clean lines, rich textures and a harmonious blend of tailored window dressings with practical modern velvet reupholstery. They asked us: Can you help us to recreate this feeling in our own home?
The existing room featured more traditional swag and tails, and sofas that didn’t quite reflect the contemporary, yet comfortable feel the family envisioned. The brief was to uplift the space with bespoke soft furnishings that felt both elegant and welcoming — a room that was stylish, functional and perfect for everyday family life.

Colour Matching & Upholstery: We worked closely with the client at a design meeting to select the perfect shades and fabrics for the room. The existing sofas were reupholstered in a luxurious stain resist treated velvet to achieve the exact tone and texture seen in their Pinterest reference - rich in depth, soft to the touch and timeless in feel.

Window Treatments: Traditional swag and tails were removed in favour of tailored pelmets and crisp cotton curtains with bespoke tie-backs that framed the windows with a refined silhouette.

Blinds: Practicality met style with new roller blinds installed behind the curtains, providing light control and privacy while keeping a minimal, modern aesthetic.
Technical Execution
Achieving the right finish began with an in-home design consultation, where we discussed light levels, fabric performance and how colours reacted to the natural daylight throughout the day.
